Agfa Delano WebApproval ApogeeX 3.5
Allows for real-time proofing, mark-up, and approval.
At Graph Expo, Agfa Graphics introduced version 2.6 of its Delano WebApproval project-management system. The new version succeeds ApogeeX WebApproval and has greater softproofing capabilities-including Delano StreamProof, allowing users to proofread, mark-up, and approve high-resolution production files in a standard Web browser in real time.
Beyond softproofing, Delano 2.6 adds features for extended JDF connectivity and upstream connectivity to MIS systems from other vendors such as EFI and Hiflex. Downstream connectivity includes prepress production such as ApogeeX. It can also handle more pages for in-house users and offers support for jobs such as poster printing.
The company also introduced version 3.5 of its ApogeeX workflow software. New features include more JDF and JMF (Job Messaging Format) functionality, and a new Raster Preview feature that extends the system’s abilities with front and back softproofing and the ability to view the trimbox, bleedbox, and cropbox of the pages. Other new functions include: Split for Proof, which has been designed for simplified proofing of 1-up and 2-up (double-sided) pages or dummy proofs; PrintDrive synchronization; interactive editing15of PDF documents; AutoStrip, a JDF-based stripping module; and support for new digital presses and platesetters.
Agfa also unveiled its newest proofing solutions at the show: SherpaRemote is a remote proofing function built into the ApogeeX workflow that enables hard-copy proofing at remote locations; SherpaProof 17 is the company’s new 17-in. inkjet proofer; SherpaDot is a dot-for-dot solution that gives users the ability to detect screening artifacts, such as moire, while replicating the look and feel of a contract proof.
Agfa announced a new version of its Salient enterprise computing solution-Salient X2. The turnkey system helps graphic communication departments expand their capabilities with cross-media publishing, production automation, and interactive customer communications.
