Compact Rebel XS from Canon

Canon has introduced the EOS Rebel XS, the company’s lightest and most compact DSLR to date. Weighing in at just under 16 oz., the 10.1-Mpxl camera is designed for a range of users, from more experienced photographers to first-time DSLR shooters.

The XS features Canon’s Digic III image processor, a high-speed, wide area 7-point AF system, and a 3 frame/sec continuous shooting and a burst rate up to 514 large JPEGs. The camera also has a Live View function, in which the DSLR can focus manually, with 5x or 10x magnification. The Rebel XS’s Auto Lighting Optimizer tool and Picture Style technology enables photographers to change the color, saturation, and sharpness of their images.

The camera also features a 2.5-in. LCD monitor with a Live View function and Canon’s EOS integrated cleaning system. The Rebel XS is compatible with compact SD and SDHC memory cards. The camera includes the EF-S18 55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS zoom lens. Price: $699.99.
