Design Group Exhibits Launches E-Commerce Website

Design Group Exhibits, a distributor of Nimlok and Orbus Exhibit and Display Group based in LaGrange, Georgia, has launched an e-commerce website. TradeShowsExtreme.com offers exhibitors the option to purchase portable display products online, including a mobile-friendly format. The webstore features a range of portable, modular, and fabric products with product information, images, setup instructions, videos, graphic templates, and more.


Catherine Monson Receives Distinguished Women Award

Catherine Monson, Fastsigns CEO and 2016 Women in Print Award winner, has been named a 2017 Distinguished Women Award recipient. Presented by Northwood University, the award “honors role models by recognizing the enormous contributions women make to communities, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and public and private sector services worldwide,” according to a release.

“The Distinguished Women honorees serve as role models for Northwood University students and alumni, and offer dedication to the principles of both higher education and a global, free-enterprise society. We are pleased to recognize the achievements and true leadership of Catherine Monson in her community and in the business world,” adds Keith Pretty, Northwood University president and CEO.

Monson, along with six other female business leaders, will be honored at the Distinguished Women Award Gala in November in Midland, Michigan.


Huntsman Textile Effects Extends Partnership with Viyellatex

Huntsman Textile Effects has extended its partnership with Viyellatex Group, a Bangladesh-based provider of sustainable apparel, for another two years. Huntsman will continue its role as preferred and sole provider of dyes, chemicals, and dye auxiliaries, and will support Viyellatex mills with streamlining and optimizing processes, training technical staff, and making recommendations to improve yield and productivity.

Both companies will continue promoting sustainable practices “by minimizing energy usage, adopting waste and water recycling, and using only organic materials and environmentally compliant chemicals and dyes,” according to a release.


SGIA Offers Color Management Boot Camp
October 23, 2017

SGIA will host the Color Management Boot Camp training workshop November 14-16 at SGIA’s Digital Imaging Lab in Fairfax, Virginia. The three-day event, aimed at company owners, prepress operators, production managers, and workflow team members, is designed to teach printing operations how to manage color with consistency and integrate color management into workflow.

The workshop involves a combination of classroom lectures and hands-on workstations, covering topics such as color management concepts and process; print standards and specifications; color measurement instrumentation and profiling software; device calibration and media profiling; software; and more.

Additional Color Management Boot Camp workshops are scheduled for 2018:

February 27-March 1
• June 5-7
September 11-13
December 4-6.


GPA Releases Wide Format Catalog
October 23, 2017

GPA has released the Wide Format Catalog, a new tool for customers utilizing roll-to-roll and flatbed printers. The resource includes nearly 120 wide-format products, divided into eight sections: Concept Media Solutions, papers, styrene boards, banner materials, fabrics, magnets, and specialty. The catalog also features a suggested usage guide for Concept products.
