Durst Offers Two New Inksets For Rho Printers

Big Picture

Durst has expanded the inksets for its Rho printers"?now offering a Rigid Board inkset and Paper/Board inkset, in addition to its Flexible inkset.

Rigid Board inkset is designed for customers printing primarily on boards and other rigid surfaces. Durst notes that it is an economical alternative, and offers excellent adhesion on acrylics and polycarbonates with no need for a primer. It prints onto virtually any rigid media and provides a 3-year durability and weather-resistance. Paper/Board inkset is engineered for roll or rigid media with a paper or PVC surface. Not as long-lived as the other inksets, the Paper/Board inks are best for shorter-term outdoor and mediumterm indoor displays.

The standard Flexible inkset offers high flexibility and adhesive properties. It is suitable for a broad range of roll and rigid substrates, is extremely durable, and weather-resistant.

In addition, Durst has introduced three other Rho options: special-effect varnish, white overprint, and spot colors. The special-effect overlay enables users to add spot gloss to one section or the entire graphic.

White overprint capability allows users to print white-on-color or color-onwhite.

This is especially useful when the graphics call for high contrast or you're printing a backlit image on transparent film. This option also allows 9-color printing"?printing four colors, white, then additional four colors. Rho printers can now print spot colors, along with the CMYK+W. The soonto- be-released spot colors are Warm Red and Ocean Blue. Look for more spot colors in the coming months, Durst reports. (Durst Image Technology: www.durstus.com)
