Enfocus Upgrades Product Line for Adobe Acrobat 8
Plus: Technology partners announced new plug-ins for PitStop Automate.
Enfocus has announced that it is readying Adobe Acrobat 8-compatible versions of its product line that will include new functionalities. These new features will include a new Navigator, which allows users to more easily identify and interactively correct errors reported in preflight; another new feature: Place PDF, which simplifies building a page from multiple PDFs.
Release of Adobe Acrobat 8-compatible versions of all PitStop-based products, including PitStop Professional, PitStop Server, and PitStop Automate, is anticipated within 90 days of Adobe"?s Acrobat release date (Adobe announced Acrobat 8 in mid-September). Free upgrades will be available to current customers, depending on their time of purchase.
In other Enfocus news, various company technology partners have announced plug-ins for PitStop Automate, Enfocus"?s Certified PDF automated preflight and editing solution:
"? Alwan Color Expertise announced its CMYK Optimizer plug-in, which can create PDF files that are not only fully checked, preflighted, and certified, but also compliant with chosen color and print standards specifications, ready for proof and print.
"? ICS announced its Remote Director virtual proofing plug-in. The Remote Director plug-in allows creative professionals to generate color-controlled, collaborative virtual proofs without leaving the PitStop Automate software environment. All those involved in the approval cycle can be invited to view the proofs, and are assigned permissions to comment, annotate, and confirm signoff.
"? PerfectProof"?s ProofMaster v3 now offers a fully integrated plug-in. This software suite for color-accurate digital proofing, printing, and cutting already includes Certified PDF functionality for those not using PitStop Automate.
"? Ultimate Technologies has integrated a new Hot Folder interface into its Impostrip On-Demand Digital product that goes directly to Enfocus Automate. Production designers can take the files they create all the way through print, whether on a Mac or Windows platform.
