Epson Launches SureColor P-Series for Photographic Printing

Featuring 8- and 10-color ink sets.

Epson has added the SureColor P-Series, a line of wide-format printers designed for graphic designers, commercial printers, photographers, and fine art printers. Available in four models, the series features Epson’s PrecisionCore TFP printheads with variable droplet technology as small as 3.5 pL, user-scheduled cleaning cycles, and a high-speed rotary cutter.

The 24-in. P6000 and 44-in. P8000 feature an 8-color UltraChrome HD ink set with reengineered black density. The 24-in. P7000 and 44-in. P9000 offer UltraChrome HDX ink in 10 colors, including a new violet ink; the available color gamut matches 99% of the Pantone Formula Guide Solid Coated colors, the company reports.

Optional features include SpectroProofer UVS, an automated spectrophotometer developed with X-Rite; and an internal 320-GB print server.
