EskoArtwork's SignUp Nesting Application
Matches the design with available substrate.
EskoArtwork has introduced SignUp, a nesting application designed to efficiently match graphic designs with the available substrate. SignUp nests jobs based on size, shape, and ordered quantities, placing designs as tightly as possible onto the substrate, minimizing waste and, hence, production costs.
'Sign and display shops are always under pressure for time and cost,' says Geert De Proost, director of EskoArtwork's Digital Converting Software product group. 'With SignUp, EskoArtwork has created a very easy to use, powerful, and unique workflow tool specifically dedicated to reduce the cost of sign and display production. Utilizing the same expertise and knowledge we have gained from nesting unusual shapes for packaging, we have provided a tool to cut and trim signs and displays efficiently.'
A RIP-independent prepress layout application tool, SignUp can accept jobs from a variety of design and publishing applications. The program delivers a PDF file to the selected printer or press, and can simultaneously send finishing instructions to any selected machine as well (such as a cutting table). Other features include:
* Automatic placement of registration marks and barcode automation for more accurate finishing;
* Creation of digital links between the front and back sides of display to ensure a better mach;
* Enabled last-minute cutting-path edits for cleaner cuts and faster speed; and
* The ability to tile oversized jobs and adjust for special applications, plus the ability to define irregular tiles for specific purposes, such as an exhibit booth corner.
An optional auto-masking and auto-bleed feature is also available for multi-tile wall displays and applications that require single-click milling. SignUp can be used with various digital printing and proofing devices as well as sheetfed and rollfed printers.
