Fujifilm Launches Acuity Advance X2
Fujifilm has announced the launch of its new Acuity Advance X2. The Acuity Advance X2 doubles the size of the print bed from the current Acuity Advance, enabling printing onto substrates as large as 120 x 98.4 inches and as thick as 1.88 inches. Further, the dual zoning system with independent vacuum control allows the printing of an image in one zone while setting up another image in the second zone, thereby increasing throughput, the company reports.
The X2 incorporates the same modified printhead array as the Acuity Advance and is designed to produce high quality at print speed of 237 sq ft/hr. In addition, the X2 is available in a 4-color CMYK offering or CMYK plus white (can be upgraded in the field).
Utilizing Fujifilm Sericol Uvijet UV inks, the X2 boasts flexibility, allowing users to print a very opaque white under, over, or between print layers.
Incorporating variable droplet printhead technology, the X2 delivers near-photographic image quality and includes a true flatbed platform to easily print onto a wide variety of rigid substrates. Additionally, a roll-to-roll module is optional; it’s ideal for printing onto all types of flexible media up to 86.6-inches wide.
Price: $169,900, 4-color; $184,900 (with white). Roll media option: $21,995.
The Acuity Advance X2 will be unveiled at the Graf Italia show in March; its North American debut will be at the Grafik Art Tradeshow in Montreal in April. Commercial shipments will commence world-wide in May.
