Graphics One Direct-to-Fabric System
Viper TX features eight Epson DX3 printheads.
Graphics One has introduced its Viper TX Direct-to-Fabric system. Comprising a Mutoh Viper TX printer, GO Sublimator, and GO Tango inks, the system allows users to image directly to the fabrics, which are then cured in-line; there is no need for transfer paper. The 65-in. Viper TX offers resolutions of up to 1440 dpi and speeds up to 425 sq ft/hr; typical production speeds run between 75 and 301 sq ft/hr. It’s ideal for direct-to-fabric printing for applications such as soft signage, flags, wall murals, trade-show exhibits, fashion fabrics, shop awnings, outdoor advertising, home furnishings, curtains, wallpaper, and more.
Armed with eight Epson DX3 drop-on-demand piezo printheads with 360 nozzles per head, it utilizes Graphics One Tango dye-sublimation inks. The inks, available in 8 colors (CMYKcm, red, green, blue, orange), offer saturated colors, extended color gamut, and UV stability.
The inline curing/heating GO Sublimator can sublimate fabrics up to 60-in. wide and match the speed of the printer. Fixing temperature is variable, but typically ranges from 150 to 160? C. Tensioning bars maintain tension and allow the imaging of various thicknesses of fabrics. The GO Sublimator does not require compressed air to operate and it can run as a standalone device, servicing a variety of fabric printers including Mimaki, Mutoh, and Roland. In addition, the Sublimator unit has an online dust collector that incorporates a charcoal air-purifying system for removal of particles of fabric and dust.
Price: $58,995 for complete system, including Wasatch’s SoftRIP.
