Big Picture

Ilford has announced the availability of OmniJet NanoSolvent Premium Photo Papers, the first products to utilize the the company’s new NanoSolvent layer technology (which it previewed last year at SGIA Expo).

Developed in response to increased printing speeds in eco-solvent printers, the OmniJet NanoSolvent products employ a hybrid layer design engineered to push the solvent through the layer and quickly hold pigments. The result, reports Ilford, is fast-dry printing with no tackiness and faster print-to-lamination times.

The new line of OmniJet NanoSolvent photo papers include NanoSolvent Satin and NanoSolvent Gloss, both in 250- and 255-gsm weights. All of the papers compatible with solvent and eco-solvent printers; all offer a bright white, photo RC paper base that is PEFC-certified (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification). In 100- and 197-ft rolls, in 24-, 30-, 42-, 54-, and 60-in. widths. Ilford indicates that more OmniJet NanoSolvent products will be introduced later this year.

In addition, Ilford has become the product licensee for the distribution of the full range of Kodak MatchPrint inkjet proofing media worldwide. Distribution is done through Ilford’s warehouses in Switzerland, Germany, and North America. A new product website has been created at kodakmatchprintmedia.com.
