Landa Labs Partners with BASF

Collaboration breaks Landa into automotive coatings market.

Big Picture

Landa Labs, a laboratory specializing in nanotechnology, has announced a partnership with the chemical producer BASF. Under the terms of the agreement, BASF will utilize Landa’s nano-pigment technology in a new line of automotive coatings in the Colors & Effects family. Originally developed for the printing industry, the technology employs small and narrow particle distribution, offering consistency and color depth in a thinner, higher chroma coating while simplifying the production process, according to the company.

"This is an industry first … Using this technology will allow us to create new products for automotive coatings," says Stefan Suetterlin of BASF, in a release.
