LaserSoft Updates SilverFast SE Scanning Software

Users can select sRGB or Adobe RGB as a color space

Big Picture

LaserSoft Imaging has updated all versions of its SilverFast SE scanning software to support ICC color management as well as output of RAW data. SilverFast SE now allows users to select sRGB or Adobe RGB as internal color space; as a result, says LaserSoft, colors will be presented with more precision"?either on a monitor or as printed output.

SilverFast SE version 6.2.2 also features: removal of small defects from dust and scratches; adaptive color restoration for restoring faded colors; grain and noise elimination; professional auto and manual sharpening dialog; auto adjust for artificial intelligence (presets for different image types to adjust to different exposure situations); NegaFix, which allows for the conversion of negative film; and more.

SilverFast SE is the "light" version of the company's SilverFast AI software. Available for more than 250 different scanner models, and for Mac and Windows, it can run as a standalone or as a Photoshop plug-in. Price: $49. (LaserSoft Imaging: www.silverfast.com)
