MetaCommunications' Workgroups 2007 Software
Job management software upgrade.
MetaCommunications has released Workgroups 2007, an upgrade to its process and productivity management software suite. Workgroups 2007 includes more than 50 new features and introduces a new plug-and-play solutions architecture enabling organizations to import pre-built functionality, called Solution Libraries, which contain support for vertical industry segments and specialized processes.
Designed to be open and modular, the Workgroups 2007 suite comprises four core components:
*Job Manager, a suite of financial-management tools that enable creative and production workgroups to accurately create estimates and quotes, monitor job costs, quickly generate on-demand reporting and invoices, and share information with industry leading accounting systems.
*Virtual Ticket, a configurable job ticketing solution that brings together all the components of your work in a centralized location, including project briefs, job tickets, customer information, associated document files, and more.
*Approval Manager, a tool for managing, tracking, and scheduling any approval process within and across creative and production environments.
*Digital Storage Manager, a storage management solution specially designed for creative, publishing, and prepress workgroups, leveraging multiple file servers, near-line storage, and offline media.
The Solutions Libraries allow for the easy tailoring of systems to support individual workflows and specific products and service offerings. More than 20 Solution Libraries will be made available with the initial release, including libraries for Large Format, Print, Photography, Screen Print, Package Design, Advance Workflow & Scheduling, Brand Management, Catalog Page Production, Creative Services, Direct Mail, Procurement, Video/Audio Production, and Web Development. Libraries can be added to a shop's workflow out of the box, and they can be easily modified and tailored to specific environments using a built-in solutions editor. Solution Libraries include forms, pre-defined searches, pre-programmed scripts, and reports.
Prices start at $4995; workgroup component applications can be purchased individually (starting at $1695 each). Solution Libraries are free of charge.
