Mutoh America Launches RJ-900X Printer

New pressure-roller controller and improved paper-handling capabilities.

Mutoh America has announced its new RJ-900X printer. Building on the company’s previous RJ-900 model, the 42-in. rollfed RJ-900X is designed to offer advanced features for print shops looking to compete in the graphics and CAD markets.

The 4-color (CMYK) printer features print speeds up to 676 sq ft/hr (draft mode, 360 dpi; standard speed is 84 sq ft/hr at 720 dpi) and improved paper-handling capabilities; also new is a pressure-roller-control feature that allows users to manually adjust pressure rollers for optimum print quality and media versatility. Top resolution on the machine is 1440 x 2880 dpi. Choice of aqueous dye or pigmented inks.

Smart Printing features on the RJ-900X include: ValueJet Status Monitor (VSM) smart phone app for mobile printer monitoring; and Intelligent Interweave (i²) print technique to virtually eliminate banding, the company reports.
