New NKM 21 Printer from Polytype

UV flatbed offers white-ink, varnish, and rollfed options.

Polytype America has introduced the NKM 21 UV flatbed to the North American market. The NKM 21 features a standard CMYKcm inkset, with white ink and varnish available as options. The machine also offers a primer function, for challenging applications such as glass and metal. Other features include: 14-picoliter variable drop size; full grayscale resolution (addressable resolution up to 1400 dpi); 2048 nozzles per color; an automatic head-crash system to prevent printhead damage; a reverse vacuum feature for handling heavy materials; and a motion alarm warning. A roll-to-roll option is available, as is an anti-static device.

Max. rigid print size on the NKM 21 is 4 x 8 ft (86 in. max. roll print width); max media thickness is 4 in. The new printer can hit a production speed of 599 sq ft/hr (398 sq ft/hr in Quality mode). A Caldera RIP server is standard (other RIPs available).
