Oce Adds Pro-Select Media Line
Inlcudes eight new proofing and photo media.
Oce has announced its Oce Pro-Select line of instant-dry media. Designed for 17- to 60-in. photo and proofing printers, the Pro-Select line includes eight new proofing and photo media. ICC profiles for the media on Oce, Epson, Canon, and HP printers with the most popular RIPs (ColorBurst, Colorbyte, and Onyx) are available from the Oce website.
All of the Pro-Select products are fast-dry and universally compatible with aqueous inksets. The line includes:
"? Oce Pro-Select Pop-Up Film with Grayback is a 7-mil, fast-dry PET (polyester) no-tear film that can withstand repeated rolling as might be encountered with portable display units. Its microporous, water-resistant, high-gloss photographic topcoat makes colors pop, and the grayback eliminates image washout caused by light diffusion.
"? Oce Pro-Select PET White Film is a 5-mil PET with a high-gloss finish and tear-resistant base. It offers the same color pop as the Pop-Up Film, but is designed for applications (such as mounted or framed photos) where a thinner base is needed and light-blocking is not required. The film may be laminated with either thermal or pressure-sensitive laminates.
"? Oce Pro-Select Premium Backlit Film is a 5-mil PET film designed to create even light diffusion and maximum image density. This film can be used for backlit or reflective applications.
"? Oce Pro-Select Premium Clear Film is a 5-mil film engineered to create inkjet screen positives and clear overlays.
"? Oce Pro-Select Proofing Paper is a 9-mil semi-matte proofing paper featuring a color-shift stabilizing layer to minimize Delta E shift.
"? Oce Pro-Select Satin Photopaper is a 10-mil photopaper with a white microporous topcoat and a satin finish. It features a resin-coated base to accept higher inkcomloads without cockling and bleed. Oce Pro-Select Glossy Photopaper is the glossy version.
"? Oce Pro-Select Portrait Surface Photopaper is a 9-mil photopaper for wedding, portrait, and traditional black-and-white photography. Designed for use with dye and pigment inks in piezo and thermal photo printers, its surface is similar to traditional photographic papers.
