Paradigm Imaging Group to Distribute Seiko Infotech Inkjets
Fast, versatile printers use oil-based pigmented inks
Paradigm Imaging Group, which has operated as a large-format print-for-pay service bureau since 1989, is now helping many of its clients set up large-format printing systems of their own. By using product knowledge gained during their own service-bureau operations, Paradigm is well-qualified to help their clients assemble integrated systems to solve unique large-format document scanning and reproduction requirements. Paradigm has helped literally dozens or architectural, engineering, construction and manufacturing firms and government offices get up and running in wide-format printing.
Paradigm Imaging Group recently announced an agreement with Seiko I Infotech of Japan to distribute the company's 54-in. wide IP-4500 MKII and 36-in. wide 4010 MK-II inkjet printers. Both printers feature Seiko's 72-mm wide Mark II piezo printheads, with 510 nozzles per color.
According to Paradigm, the user-friendly 720 x 720 dpi printers are fast even in the highest-quality print modes. Seiko Infotech has claimed print speeds of 215 sq ft/hr in the highest-quality 8-pass mode.
The clean, oil-based pigmented inks have very little odor, so ventilation equipment isn't required. And because the inks dry quickly, the printers also avoid the paper-distortion problems that some water-based inks can cause in areas of 100% ink density. Images output on the Seiko Infotech printers can be hung or laminated almost immediately after printing. Graphics on adhesive-backed vinyl will last outdoor for up to one year without lamination.
The printers are supplied with Onyx RIPCenter print-management software that enables tiling, copying, scaling, and cutting. According to Paradigm, the high-capacity, easy-to-change 500 ml ink cartridges minimize the risk of running out of ink during a print job and media loading is quick and easy.
