At the Royal Albert Hall
Oasis Graphic Co. with artist Sir Peter Blake create mural for London’s Royal Albert Hall.
It’s been nearly 50 years since the release of the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album. The music was revolutionary, but so was its artwork by Sir Peter Blake and Jann Haworth. Now, Blake is at it again, working with Oasis Graphic Co. (www.oasisgraphic.co.uk) to create a mural for London’s Royal Albert Hall.
Featuring the likes of J.K. Rowling, Meat Loaf, Stephen Hawking, and the Dalai Lama – in all, 400 stars who have performed at the hall since it opened in 1871– Blake’s art was provided to Oasis via Dark Matter Studio. Following a site survey, Oasis utilized its EFI Vutek GS3250 UV printer to output onto A. Berger VanGogh FineArt canvas (370-gsm). The mural comprises a 14.6 x 8-foot center panel, and two 4 x 8-foot end panels; graphics were wrapped around timber frames with hard back plates, affixed to the wall on concealed split battens with security fixings.
