SAi Releases PhotoPrint 6 and Flexi 8.5
Designed to boost user productivity and aid in color-management.
SA International has released new versions of both its PhotoPrint and Flexi software RIPs.
PhotoPrint 6 is designed to boost user productivity and aid in color-management while maintaining an easily used interface, the company reports. New features on PhotoPrint 6 include Print Wizard, designed to offer inexperienced users an easier path to generate high-quality output, and a point-and-click color-variations tool. Also new is an improved Color Profiler, intended to simplify the workflow of ICC output profile generation.
Other new features include: compatibility with Windows Vista; the ability to nest or tile jobs to multiple rolls via a dual-roll printing function; a Repeat Job function; and a Break Apart function (breaking up multi-copy, multi-page, or multi-tiled jobs into individual jobs). Note: availability of new features will depend upon which PhotoPrint version is utilized-SE, DX, Server, or Server-Pro.
The 8.5 version of Flexi, geared toward signmaking, offers many of the same new features as PhotoPrint 6. In addition, Flexi 8.5 also now offers context-sensitive help files, new drivers for the latest printers, engravers, and vinyl cutters; and a Sign Making Fonts and Graphics CD. Flexi 8.5 also has improved upon its existing feature set, including: automatic updates, nesting, an enhanced color-management system (support up to 16 color channels), import/export filters, and more. Note: Availability of new features will depend upon which version of Flexi is being utilized (there are eight versions).
