Teckwin Launches TeckSmart UV 1600/2500

UV1600 is 63-in. wide; UV2500 is a 98-in. machine.

Big Picture

Teckwin has recently introduced its new TeckSmart UV1600/2500 flatbed and rollfed printers.

With the exception of print width and speeds, the machines are the same: the Teckwin UV1600 is 63-in. wide and the UV2500 is a 98-in. machine. The UV1600 offers top speeds of 258 sq ft/hr in 4-pass Normal mode, while it can reach 86 sq ft/hr in Ultra 12-pass mode; the UV2500 is slightly faster with up to 283 sq ft/hr in Normal 4-pass mode and 93 sq ft/hr in Ultra 12-pass mode.

Both machines are equipped with Xaar XJ500/360 printheads, and are compatible with 5-color (CMYK+W) or 7-color (CMYKcm+W) UV-inks. The bulk-ink system features 2-l tanks and an audible low-ink level signal.

These printers support a variety of media up to 0.59-in. thick and rigid media as heavy as 5000 gsm. The UV1600/2500 machines also feature edge-to-edge printing, a vacuum platform to ensure media flatness, auto printhead-height adjustment, and dual UV lamps with a shutter system for bi-directional printing. The printers are compatible with a variety of RIPs, including Colorburst, Caldera, and Onyx.

Price: TeckSmart UV1600, $69,500 with RIP; TeckSmart UV2500, $79,500 with RIP.

In March, Teckwin announced that it has opened a wholly owned subsidiary in Las Vegas, Teckwin International US-which is now responsible for sales, marketing, and technical services for North, Central, and South America. In addition, Teckwin also announced its first distribution agreement in North America, with Nazdar SourceOne.
