Xaar hosted an official opening event for its new 3D Centre on the Nottingham Science Park in England on March 29. More than 30 guests were given a tour of the new facility, which specializes in global services of High Speed Sintering technology. (High Speed Sintering utilizes inkjet printheads and infrared heaters to produce 3D products layer by layer, and shows promise of having a higher speed and lower cost than other 3D printing processes.)

“The 3D sector is an important part of our 2020 strategy, and, with this new 3D Centre, some exciting growth opportunities will be available to Xaar,” says Doug Edwards, CEO, in the release.

Xaar aims to form partnerships with companies that could benefit from its new technology, such as those in additive manufacturing, 3D printing, and high-volume manufacturing.
