3M has announced several new media and inks, including its flexible UV-curable inks for Durst and EFI Vutek printers.

The new Piezo Ink Jet Series 2700UV ink for the Durst Rho 160R is one of the first UV-curable inksets that is highly conformable and can be used on vehicle wraps, even with complex riveted and corrugated surfaces and tight contours. In addition to vehicle wraps, the CMYK inkset can be used for indoor/outdoor signage, banners, and flexible signs. Warranted for up to 5-yr outdoor usage.

3M also introduced a new inkset for the EFI Vutek PressVu UV 200/600 printer. The 3M Piezo Ink Jet Series 2200UV inks are also flexible and can be used on curved, corrugated, or flat surfaces, with or without rivets. The 6-color inks (CMYKcm) are warranted for up to 5-yr outdoor usage.

The new 3M Panagraphics III Substrate is a backlit flexible polyester scrim embedded in a bright white-pigmented vinyl. Available in widths up to 10.5 ft, this semi-gloss substrate offers a smooth front surface with daytime whiteness and nighttime brightness.

Comply v2 Adhesive has been developed for easy installations with a smooth, high-gloss surface. With easy repositionability, superior initial adhesion, and bubble-free installation, this new adhesive has been incorporated into 3M Controltac Plus Graphic Film with Comply v2 Adhesive IJ180Cv2-10.

The 3M Scotchlite Reflective Graphic Film Series 5100R is now available in white, black, gold, red, yellow, and blue. The removable, reflective 6-mil films can be imaged with a piezo inkjet printer and offer medium-term durability, removability for up to 4 yr, and high resistance to fading, cracking, and peeling.
