Better printing through chemistry
"Enter the Chemical-Free World." That's the inviting headline on a 1995 poster for an early-model inkjet printer. The poster shows an iguana migrating from a black-and-white desert into a lush and colorful forest, filled with clear, flowing streams of water. It was hoped that portraying digital-color printing as an eco-friendly paradise would attract the attention of screen printers and other traditional users of smelly, solvent-based printing inks and processing chemicals.
