Photo-management software includes RAW support

ACD Systems has released the latest version
of its popular photo-management
software"?ACDSee 7. The new version
offers several upgrades, including RAW
image support, advanced search capabilities,
and more.

For professional photographers, the big
news is that ACDSee allows users to examine
images in their native RAW format. It
supports RAW from most major camera
manufacturers, including Canon, Nikon,
Fujifilm, Olympus, Kodak, and Minolta. And
its advanced search capabilities allow
users to view their entire collection at once,
as well as search for specific criteria from
folders, categories, and calendar dates.

Other features of ACDSee 7 include: the
ability to view, browse, and convert images
to JPEG 2000 format; side-by-side comparison
of images; optimized workflow with
the context-sensitive toolbar; interacting
with EXIF data; sharing images via cell
phones, Flash, and PDF slide shows, and
an image-rating system.

The ACDSee 7 PowerPack includes
ACDSee 7, ACD Photo Editor 3.1 (for quick
edits), and ACD FotoSlate 3.1 (to create
greeting cards, calendars, and contact
sheets). ACDSee 7 is available for $49.99
for the full version; $39.99 for the
upgrade from ACDSee 6. ACDSee Power-
Pack is $79.99 for the full version; $49.99
for the upgrade from 6. (ACD Systems: www.acdsystems.com)
