Project-management goes online
Agfa's Delano Publish is an interactive Web-based project management tool. It was developed for publishers, printers, service bureaus, and print buyers that are interested in Web-based PDF viewing and job approval.
"Customers involved in the publishing end of the printing process have asked for, and now they have, a project-management tool that is built entirely around their needs," says Agfas' Deborah Hutcheson. "Since Delano Publish is based on standards such as PDF, JDF, and XML, communication with clients and between departments is optimized, resulting in more effective and profitable operations."
Delano Publish makes it easier for files to be submitted, checked, and converted to PDF format. It offers online client collaboration for faster response times on soft proofing and page approvals as well as tracking all tasks, providing immediate feedback on their status.
Other functions include: Visualization of all pages in the product structure, automated job processing, generation of high-resolution, production-ready PDFs, and a messaging tool that keeps the users informed throughout the workflow.
Additionally, users can take advantage of a powerful proofing option that generates a color-managed rendered contone file based on the high-resolution PDF production file. (Agfa: www.agfa.com)
