10.1-Mpxl camera features 2.5-in. LCD display and redesigned CMOS sensor.
Canon has added the EOS Digital Rebel XTi to its digital SLR lineup. The 10.1-Mpxl XTi offers a redesigned Canon CMOS sensor, 2.5-in. LCD display screen with a 160? viewing angle, menu developed for easier use, and Integrated Cleaning System. The redesigned CMOS is 22.2 x 14.8 mm in size, maintains a 1.6x conversion ratio, and reduces image-noise levels by converting light values to electrical signals on the chip. In addition, it offers an ISO range of 100 to 1600.
Available only on the EOS Rebel XTi, the Integrated Cleaning System consists of several technologies, including: a Self- Cleaning Sensor Unit that uses ultrasonic vibrations to shake loose dust particleseach time the camera is turned on and off; a Dust Delete Data function that maps the size and position of dust particles then automatically subtracts them from the image; and a body cap and shutter made of materials that are more resistant to particle "fall out" during normal use and wear.
The XTi also offers a DIGIC II Image Processor, capture speeds up to 3 frames/ sec, RAW files up to 9.8 MB, folders capable of storing 9999 images, nine-point Autofocus sensor, CompactFlash card slot, and compatibility with the complete line of Canon EF and EF-S lenses designed specifically for digital SLRs. Bundled software includes, Canon’s Digital Photo Professional, Digital Photo Pro, and Direct Print.
EOS Digital Rebel XTi price: $799 for body only; $899 with lens kit (EF-S 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6 zoom lens).
