Sheetfed laminator uses water-based clearcoats
Clearstar Coating has premiered its 63-
in. StarLam liquid laminator. The sheetfed
laminator is able to coat the top side
of vinyl, paper, canvas, and many rigid
substrates with an even coating of its
water-based ClearShield liquid laminate.
Designed to be used over solvent-based
output and pigmented inks printed on
water-resistant media, ClearShield protects
against UV, moisture, abrasion,
chemical damage, and marring.
The StarLam can apply a coating up
to 0.25-in. thick at speeds up to 7 ft/min.
The laminator is easy to operate by a
single operator and easy to clean up in
less than 10 min, reports the company.
