Digital Storage Manager 1.0, from MetaCommunications, is an intranet search
and archive-management software solution
designed specifically for production
environments. The system works
in conjunction with standard desktop
publishing tools and the Mac OS Finder to
allow users to:

• Quickly and easily find files"?users
  can specify simple or complex files, by
  tags or actual text content (full-size page
  previews also are available).

• Automatically capture metadata,
  eliminating manual cataloging (including
  Adobe XMP and text content from Mac OS
  X and Windows 2002/2003).

• Archive by individual user or by a
  central librarian/archivist.

The Production Pack contains a set of
plugins for OS X Finder, Adobe InDesign,
Illustrator, and QuarkXPress; these provide
the ability to lookup and edit metadata
directly from within these applications.
