(May 2006) posted on Fri May 26, 2006 New "Creator Edition" displays available in 21 and 24-in. sizes.
Eizo Nanao Technologies extended its range of LCD displays,
introducing two new wide-format monitors
with a "Creator Edition"? ("CE"?) designation:
the 21-in. ColorEdge CE210W and
the 24-in. ColorEdge CE240W.
Both CE monitors are geared toward
printing, graphic design, photography,
and CAD, and both share these features:
- Increased horizontal viewing space:
a 16:10 aspect ratio (1680 x 1050 native
resolution for the 210W, 1920 x 1200
native resolution for the 240W) versus a
4:3 aspect ratio for conventional monitors.
The screen is wide enough so that
two A4-size pages can be opened at full
size with tool palettes placed on the
perimeter of the screen.
- Extended color accuracy and control:
14-bit color processing for accurate
grayscale rendering, plus a user-adjustable
gamma level from 1.8 to 2.6 (factory-
adjusted to 2.2), and color-tempera-
ture adjustments from 4000 to 10,000 K
in 100-K adjustments. Eizo"?s ColorNavigator
CE software, bundled with each display,
allows users to input target values
for brightness, white point, and gamma,
then works with a range of measurement
devices to directly access the monitor"?s
10-bit Look-Up Table for accurate calibration.
A brightness-stabilization circuit
maintains brightness levels within minutes
after startup; it also detects and
automatically compensates for brightness
fluctuations due to ambient temperature.
- Ergonomic design: the ArcSwing
2 stand offers an arc-shaped range of
movement to allow for the screen to be
positioned near eye level or at an angle
more akin to reading a book. The base
swivels 172"?.
Price: $1199, CE210W; $1699,
CE240W. Both displays are available in
black or white/silver.
