Features include new Epson UltraChrome GS2 solvent-based ink technology.
Epson America has introduced its SureColor S30670 solvent printer, a new 64-in., 4-color (CMYK) printer that utilizes a new print engine with Epson’s MicroPiezo TFP printhead, and new Epson UltraChrome GS2 solvent-based ink technology.
The S30670 represents the first time the MicroPiezo TFP printhead has been integrated into a solvent printer. The 1-in.-wide printhead features 720 nozzles/color, enhanced variable-droplet technology, low-vibration control for highly accurate dot shape and placement, and a coating to dramatically reduce nozzle clogging, Epson reports. Top resolution is 1440 dpi.
It utilizes Epson’s UltraChrome GS2 solvent inks, which feature extremely fast dry times and work on virtually all standard coated or uncoated solvent media, including adhesive based vinyl and sign banner media as well as canvas media, Epson reports. The inkset includes a newly formulated high-performance, nickel-less yellow ink. Ink cartridges are front-loaded, up to 700 ml.
Other features include: speeds up to 619 sq ft/hr in Draft mode and 205 sq ft/hr in Production mode; spindle-less roll-media loading with manual Epson LiftAssist for easy loading and unloading; a take-up reel for unattended production of large print runs, supporting wind-in and wind-out, as well as a standard motorized heavy-roll support system in the rear that supports up to 90 lb (optional high-capacity roll support of up to 150 lb); and an Onyx GamaPrint Pro RIP standard (which can be upgraded later).
List price: $16,995, available in April.
