Fujifilm has showcased its Digital Inkjet J Press 720 for the first time in North America. Designed to fill the gap between toner-based digital and offset printing formats, the J Press 720 is particularly suitable for traditional commercial printers looking to improve competitiveness for short-run work and digital printers who are looking to offer a wider range of digital print services, the company reports. The Inkjet J Press 720 features Fujifilm Dimatix Samba single-pass piezo drop-on-demand printhead technology, 1200-dpi resolution, and four-level grayscale capability. Its top speed is 2700 29.5 x 20.8-in. four-up sheets/hr. It’s capable of variable-data output.
