To work on development of standards
International Digital Enterprise Alliance (IDEAlliance) has named Dianne Kennedy as vice-president for Publishing Technologies and Membership. As such, Kennedy will provide project management to Idealliance standards working groups, enhance the association's collaborative tools to support standards development and communications, launch new online member services, and extend new programs to better link advances in information technologies with print media.
"Today the need for standards and best practices in the publishing industry is greater than ever as technology advances, media continues to converge and evolve, and economic pressures require publishers to develop new efficiencies," says Kennedy.
Kennedy has a history in the publishing business--starting from her early experience as a editor/writer for the textbook division of Doubleday. Since then she worked with Idealliance as far back as 1984 as a tutorial instructor for the SGML series. In 1992, she started her own consultancy and focused on providing publishing systems design services. In addition, she has worked with Idealliance as editor for XML files, conference chair and is current co-chair of the Open Publish Conference Series.
In addition, it was announced that VP Marion Elledge will take the role of vice-president for Information Technology Alliances and Conferences.
IDEAlliance is a not-for-profit membership organization that develops user-driven, cross-industry solutions for publishing and content-related processes by developing standards, fostering business alliances, and identifying best practices.
