Font-management software allows users to find fonts and test their integrity.
Insider Software has announced the availability of FontAgent Pro 3 for Windows, the company’s font-management software previously only available for Macintosh computers.
The new version of FontAgent Pro allows Windows users to: find all Windows TrueType, OpenType, and Type 1 PostScript font files and test their integrity; build an organized, optimized font library; optimize the Windows Fonts Control Panel by moving fonts not required by Windows into the font library; activate and de-activate fonts with a click to save system resources and keep font menus manageable; define font sets and subsets to enable easy font activation and management; view text strings in a variety of fonts, sizes, and colors using Font Player and Font Compare viewers; print color font books and sample sheets for easy reference and for sharing designs with clients and associates; export fonts into folders for simple sharing with service bureaus and printers; backup font files into central archives for safekeeping and easy restoration; and rename cryptic Windows font filenames to real fonts.
FontAgent Pro 3 for Windows requires Windows XP, a PC with a Pentium II chip or higher, and 8 MB of available disk space. FontAgent Pro is also available for Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later.
Price: $99.95 per user; volume license pricing is available.
