Lyson has premiered three new media:
Lyson Archival Matte, Lyson premium
Gloss, and Lyson Premium Luster. The new
media are available in most common
sheet and professional roll sizes. The
Archival Matte is a bright white 280-gsm
fiber-based matte with a slightly textured
finish and sheen that mimics traditional
fiber-based photo media. The Premium
Gloss is a bright white 12-mil high-gloss
photo paper that is smooth and waterresistant.
Compatible with both dye- and
pigment-based inks, Premium Luster is a
satin-finished 10.4-mil paper for photographic
prints with a luster finish.
Lyson's Grand Format Solvent inks,
with a shelf-life of 18 months and 3-yr
longevity without lamination (5 yr with lamination),
are now available for use by the
Gandinnovations Jeti printers, Mutoh Toucan,
and Oce Arizona T220 flatbed printers.
Introduced in late 2004, its Daylight
Darkroom digital black-and-white printing
system is now compatible with Windows
XP and for use with the Epson Photo
1280, 2000, and 2200, as well as the Stylus
Pro 2200, 4000, and the 7600/9600
machines. The Mac OS X version is also
now compatible with all of the abovenamed
printers. Lyson is working to
extend this system to Canon printers.
The company also has debuted its
Mimaki bulk ink system. And now Epson
R800 printers can have a Cave Paint bulkfeed
delivery system. In addition, Lyson
Fotonic dye-based inks are now available
in a bulk-feed system for the Canon i9900
