Products accept multiple inks for screenprinting.
With more screen printers expanding into the digital-printing arena, MacTac has added Multi-Print Media (MPM) products to its Imagin vinyl line. Its JT5529BFD and JT5929BFD products can now be printed with solvent, mild-solvent, and UV-curable digital inkjet inks or any screen-printing inks. This dual-usage is possible due to the layflat polycoated liner in both products. By having dual-use substrates, inventory costs are reduced and both inkjet and screen printers can take advantage of the company’s Imagin B-Free air-egress adhesive system.
The 2.1-mil JT5529BFD and 2.7-mil JT5929BFD feature a bright white face; an 80-lb polycoated liner; smooth, glossy face for paint-like appearance; and the Imagin product warranty. These products provide long-term outdoor usage (up to 10 yr) and are highly conformable over complex curves, rivets, and corrugation without lifting, peeling, or shrinking.
To expand customer application expertise, MacTac has teamed up with vehicle-wrap installer Rob Ivers to bring Application Nation training classes to eight US locations during 2007. These introductory courses are designed to give attendees the tools they need to master vehicle-wrap installs. See the MacTac website for locations and dates.
In addition, the company has expan-ded its Open-Image Warranty to include any combination of printer and ink used with MacTac’s graphic media. Product lines that fall under the Open-Image Warranty include: Imagin digital media, Permacolor mounting and laminating films, MacMark cut vinyl films and MacScreen screen printable films.
"The Open-Image Warranty is not limited to previously endorsed or tested systems," says Jeff Stadelman, technical marketing manager for MacTac Graphic Products. "Customers can bring us a sample of their chosen system and MacTac will run a series of tests to ensure the combination works. If it works, we will cover it under the warranty, and if not, we will make an alternative recommendation."
