Allows Canto product users to apply digital watermarking
Canto has partnered with MediaSec to develop the MediaSign Digital Plug-in for its Cumulus product. MediaSign allows Cumulus users to apply digital watermarking to their assets, greatly reducing copyright infringements as well unwanted manipulation of assets such as digital photographs, artwork, and videos.
"With the watermarking technology, we are providing our customers with a tool that allows an even more efficient and secure use and distribution of their assets on the Internet, especially with the built-in e-commerce functions of Cumulus," says Jennifer Neumann, Canto CEO.
Specifically, MediaSign allows for: the invisible integration of an electronic time signature directly into the document; relevant data such as source, date, and time of archiving integrated into the data with the digital watermark; fully automatic verification; and retrieval of metadata even after compression or conversion.
"Our technology allows the linking of additional information"?such as owner, validity, or use"?to the digital asset, invisibly and permanently," says Eckhard Koch, CEO of MediaSec. "Even parts of images that have been pasted into other images can clearly be identified by the owner, making it easy to sport and prove any copyright infringements or manipulations."
MediaSign Digital Plug-in is available for Cumulus Single-User 6.0.3 (Windows only); server versions of the plug-in for Workgroup and Enterprise solutions will soon be available. Price: $59. (Canto: www.canto.com; MediaSec: www.mediasec.com)
