MGI Digital Graphic Technology/MGI USA has introduced the JetVarnish digital inkjet spot UV coater designed for a host of applications, including posters, brochures, personalized direct mail, premium packaging, corporate materials, book covers, and other applications. An offline machine, the JetVarnish can accommodate sheets up to 20 x 29-in. and can handle runs with full variable data capabilities. Its drop-on-demand printheads allow for precise spot coverage and the integrated ozone-free UV lamp enables instant drying, MGI reports.
JetVarnish features include: the ability to handle a wide range of coated paper and plastic substrates, up to 600gsm; ozone- and solvent-free output, utilizing "green" consumables; and production capability up to 2500 20 x 29-in. sheets/hr. The machine is 100% variable-data capable, enabling custom spot-varnished prints with unique graphics, text, and barcodes. Coating is available in gloss, ultragloss, or satin finishes.
