Built on Solara platform, features higher resolution output.
Gerber has introduced its Gerber CAT UV flatbed, a new printer built on its Solara ion platform but featuring a different ink dot placement matrix and, hence, higher-resolution printing, the company reports.
The 4-color (CMYK), 64-in. printer features the company’s GerberCat cationic inks and Cold Fire-Cure low-temperature technology. It can hit a top speed of 165 sq ft/hr in Production mode (635 x 720 dpi) and 70 sq ft/hr in Quality mode (1058 x 720 dpi). It can accommodate media up to 1-in. thick. When using the rollfed option, there’s no need to reconfigure the printer due to the Gerber CAT’s two dedicated platforms; rolled material remains on the printer’s winding unit while a rigid job is printed.
An Onyx RIP is optional.
Price: $80,995; $84,995 with rollfed configuration.
