Nik updates Sharpener Pro also.
Nik Software has announced Color Efex Pro 3.1, an upgrade to its photographic filter software, which allows users to apply filters to areas of a photo to enhance images using Nik’s U-Point technology. The upgrade now supports Apple Aperture 2.1, Nikon’s Capture NX2, and the Smart Filters feature of Adobe Photoshop CS3.
Price: Complete Edition (52 filters), $299.95; Select Edition (35 filters), $159.95. Current owners of Color Efex Pro 3.0 can upgrade the software for free.
Nik Software has also introduced an update to Sharpener Pro, its photographic plug-in for Adobe Photoshop and Apple Aperture. Sharpener Pro 3.0 includes new U-Point powered controls, updated output sharpening, new creative sharpening, sharpening soft-proof capabilities, new output presets, an updated raw presharpener, an updated selective tool, smart filter support, and multi-image support.
Price: $199.95; upgrades from any previous version are available for $99.95.
