JOBO AG has released Photo GPS, a small, lightweight GPS receiver for digital photographers. The PhotoGPS enables automatic and instantaneous geo-tagging, which allows GPS data such as country, city, street, postal code, and point of interest to be written to each digital picture’s EXIF file.
The device, requiring no extra cables, attaches to a camera’s hot shoe and features low power consumption as well as a long battery life. The photoGPS includes a PC- and Mac-compatible DVD, containing the software and database needed to post-process the information captured by the unit. The captured GPS data is downloaded via the device’s built-in USB interface. Price: $149.
