Accommodates media thicknesses up to 1-inch.
Raster Graphics has revamped its 72-in. UV-curable 720 printer. The new 6-color 720UVZ is a flatbed/rollfed unit that offers resolutions from 720 x 800 dpi to 360 x 300 dpi, and print speeds of 300 sq ft/hr in billboard mode to 100 sq ft/hr in quality print mode.
Accommodating media thicknesses up to 1-in., the 720UVZ prints onto both coated and uncoated rigid and flexible media up to 1-in. thick. At the time of purchase, customers can choose from Spectra S-class 30-pl SE printhead or 50-pl SM heads. The 30-pl head can produce true 720 x 800-dpi images with an emphasis on detail; the 50-pl SM-128 can also print in the 720 x 800-dpi mode with drop in detail, but allows for high-speed printing at more than 300 sq ft/hr in 360 x 300-dpi mode.
Other features include: two separate UV-lamp systems (one for each side of the printhead) to provide consistent bi-directional printing and complete curing of the inks; a simple crank system to adjust printhead height; and simplified head maintenance allowing each printhead to be individually flushed. The printer also offers optional support for i-cut (Mikkelson Graphic Engineering) digital die-cutting workflow.
Price: $57,900. Customers who purchased the RP-720UV can field upgrade their units to the RP-720UVZ for $1995, including labor and parts.
