PARSIPPANY, N.J., USA – March 20, 2014 – Sun Chemical has teamed up with T+ink to form T+sun, an organization which will provide conductive ink solutions to make packages and objects communicate, engage customers and manage inventory systems.
Drawing from the global resources of Sun Chemical, including the company’s electronic materials, packaging and brand protection groups, T+sun will utilize Sun Chemical’s global R&D, technical support, manufacturing infrastructure, supply chain, marketing, and sales.
T+ink, one of the first emerging companies to commercialize true printed electronics across a variety of industries, including toys, packaging, promotional products, construction and apparel, brings patented technologies that are designed to replace switches, wires, buttons, speakers, lights, sensors, microphones, antennas and batteries with printed ink for touch and motion-activated applications.
“T+ink’s technology creates a dynamic opportunity for our customers,” said Felipe Mellado, Chief Marketing Officer, Sun Chemical. “The innovation we provide through our own research and development, and through strategic partnerships with T+ink and others, can give our customers a complete solution that enables best-in-class packaging designs worldwide now and in the future.”
“This partnership will be on the frontlines of making objects smart and interactive,” said Terry Kaiserman, Chief Technology Officer, T+ink. “T+sun will provide a fundamentally new way for brands to communicate, engage consumers, manage inventory and more. Conductive ink replaces RFID codes at a fraction of the cost and offers more security than QR codes.”
T+ink is the award-winning developer and designer of patented “thinking ink” solutions that make objects smart, interactive and secure – from print ads that change color and concert tickets that unlock bonus videos, to packaging that becomes its own point of sale for reorders and automotive keyless entry surfaces that light up when a driver approaches. The cost-cutting, revolutionary Touchcode technology, which was awarded highest gold honors by Wall Street Journal Technology Innovation Awards, effectively digitizes printed material, creating new functionality for consumer and industrial products. T+ink is an Edison Award winner, which honors excellence in new product development and innovation, and won for both best product development and best commercialization from IDTechEx Printed Electronics Awards, which spotlight technical innovations that will be used in many products. Headquartered in Los Angeles with a mission to “T+ink” every product on the planet, T+ink has innovation and development centers in New York, New Jersey and Germany. Its partners span the world’s best-known Fortune 100 corporations. For more information about T+ink, please visit www.t-ink.com.
