Recently in one of Moscow airports a package was arrested. It contained samples of printing for Colombian client of SUN Innovations. Customs officials were misled by the reproduction of famous van Gogh’s “Sunflowers” piece of art, printed on the canvas with the use of raised printing technology which allows simulation of the brush strokes.
High quality played a trick on innovators. Samples of printing were mistaken for pieces of art and forbidden for export abroad without a special permission from the Russian Ministry of Culture.
“We send such samples very often to our clients, – says Marketing and Business Development director of SUN Innovations Alexander Radchenko. – So they can evaluate the quality of our unique equipment and nanoinks. It’s common practice. What is more, we print samples not only on canvas, but also on glass, plastic, wood, water – on any surface, any material, almost without limitations”.
Raised printing became possible thanks to unique properties of inks, developed by the SUN Innovations’ chemists. They are applied layer by layer and cured immediately by UV-LED. This technology is know-how of SUN Innovations. The height of raised layer can be up to 6 mm! Decorations of interior, printing of reproductions or Braille signs – the scopes of raised printing are countless.
