Tamron has introduced its SP AF10-24mm Di II high-performance ultra wide-angle zoom lens designed exclusively for Canon and Nikon small-sensor DSLR cameras. The lens features a 2.4x zoom ratio, a focal length that covers the 35mm full-size format equivalent of 16-37mm, and a maximum aperture of f/3.5-4.5.

The lightweight, compact lens also features a glass-molded aspherical lens element and three hybrid aspherical elements to minimize spherical aberration, coma, and distortion. Additionally, the lens offers a pair of low-dispersion glass elements help to ensure high optical quality. The lens also has multiple-layer coatings and internal surface coatings to reduce the image degradation caused by the reflection of light rays.

Pentax and Sony models will be announced at a later date, Tamron reports.
