Enhancements include ambient measuring capabilities.
X-Rite has introduced its OptixXR2 display calibration and monitor-profiling solution, an upgrade to the company's OptixXR solution. The OptixXR2, combining a colorimeter with software, offers color management for both LCD and CRT displays.
New enhancements include:
- Improved workflow simplicity and user interface: The OptixXR2 features adjustment of color with the touch of a single button, plus a new help system.
- Automatic Display control: Also a one-touch feature, this control can optimize a display's color temperature, contrast, and brightness settings to ensure a high-quality ICC profile.
- Ambient measuring capabilities: An ambient diffuser attaches to the bottom of the OptixXR2 hardware, allowing more exact characterization of the user's environment, improving the accuracy of profiles.
- Accommodates new display technologies: OptixXR2 is designed to advance with users as they upgrade display types and build high-quality profiles. It recognizes when an upgrade is necessary and prompts users to download correct information required to properly profile a monitor.
X-Rite has also announced: an inline spectrophotometer for the newest version of Kodak's Veris digital proofer (the new proofer was announced at IPEX this spring); a bundling of its MonacoEZcolor color-management software with the Epson Perfection V700 Photo and V750-M Pro scanners.
