Xara has announced the release of Xara Xtreme Pro, a rendering engine that enables photo-realistic vector illustration and features PDF/X support and Photoshop PSD file compatibility, color separation and Pantone support, multi-page capability, and simple animated Flash creation. The integrated XPE (Xara Picture Editor) photo tool has also been2007enhanced with the addition of a photo levels plug-in.
Other new features in the Pro version include: improved Microsoft Office integration; PDF export to Adobe Illustrator; PDF font embedding and subsetting; layer support (Xara Xtreme layers can be switched on and off in Adobe Acrobat Reader); and Xara file embedding-users can now embed Xara Xtreme files into PDF files. Price: $199.
