Xerox has launched the Xerox iGen3 110 Digital Production Press, which runs 10-20% faster than the original iGen3 press, which it replaces. The new iGen3 110 can print standard 8.5 x 11-in. jobs at 100 pages/min and smaller sheet sizes at up to 120 pages/min.

Enhancements to the press include: Xerox SmartSize software, which allows it to maximize the rate of page throughput per run, based on paper size (fitting more pages on the imaging belt); and enhanced paper handling with an oversize paper option (up to 14.33' x 22.5 in.), which accommodates a wider variety of stocks from 80 lb. text to 130 lb. cover.

The Xerox iGen3 110 is immediately available in North America, Europe, and Latin America. The U.S. list base price starts at $580,000. An upgrade for current iGen3 press customers is available for $20,000.

In March, the company's Gil Hatch Center for Customer Innovation made its debut. A 100,000-sq-ft facility located in the heart of Xerox's research and manufacturing complex in Webster, N.Y., the center is designed to give current and prospective customers integrated, one-stop access to Xerox's entire portfolio of digital production printing equipment and solutions. More than 60 employees will work at the center, which includes an iGen3 press customer-training lab, a paper feeding and finishing lab, multimedia theater and meeting rooms. Customers invited to the center can also see their own applications printed on the Xerox digital equipment in the facility. The center represents the vision of Gil Hatch, the former president of Xerox's Production Systems Group who passed away last summer.
