International Sign Association Launches Online Training Courses

(November 2012) posted on Wed Nov 28, 2012

The focus for the initial two sessions is sign installation.

The International Sign Association (ISA) has released the first of its online training courses designed to help sign companies and print providers implement relevant training at convenient times.

The first two courses in the online ISA Sign Academy are available now: “The Sign Installer’s Guide: Wall Signs” and “The Sign Installer’s Guide: Safety Course.” “Wall Signs” teaches the basics of wall sign installation while “Safety Course” addresses general safety skills.

“Our online learning is designed to address current issues that sign companies face,” says Matthew Rumbaugh, ISA director of education. “Many businesses find that hiring qualified employees is increasingly difficult, and therefore must train new hires. These courses provide a tremendous learning opportunity for educating or cross training, or a refresher course for more experienced employees.”

Training is open to ISA members as well as non-members. Each course will take about 90 minutes to complete, the association reports, but trainees have the option to go through various modules at different times.

“Education has always been an important element of the services ISA offers to its members and to the larger sign industry,” says Lori Anderson, ISA president and CEO. “By adding online learning capabilities to our in-person education and webinars, we have made training available to sign companies around the world, when and how they need it.”

Registration: $150 per course for non-members ($75 for members). Those registering by December 31, 2012, receive one complimentary registration.

Other online sessions will be available by the end of the year.
