FESPA has announced that it will partner with the European Sign Federation (ESF) to run a new event – the European Sign Expo, which will take place alongside FESPA in London next year, June 25-27, 2013. The European Sign Expo will complement FESPA’s focus on printed signage and graphics, offering visitors a focused sign event in which to explore channel lettering, signage systems, illuminated displays, digital signage, and more.

The European Sign Expo will be organized by FESPA, with sales, marketing, and operations the responsibility of the in-house exhibition team, and strategic input from ESF. The new expo will occupy nearly 54,000 square feet (gross) adjacent to the existing FESPA 2013 halls, and will have distinct branding and entrances. Visitors to either FESPA 2013 or the European Sign Expo will have automatic access to the neighboring event free of charge, FESPA reports.

“Developing an exhibition for the sign industry is an important mission for ESF,” says Roger Persson, president of the European Sign Federation. “As a federation, our objectives include providing a central point where the sign making community can obtain industry information, as well as facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences. We believe an exhibition is the perfect platform for individuals to be able to do this while also sourcing equipment solutions to improve the performance of their business.”

“It is a natural progression for FESPA to develop a sign exhibition to serve the European market; sign makers are already part of FESPA’s global community,” says Neil Felton, FESPA managing director of exhibitions and events. “As the convergence between the sign and print sectors continues, we want to guide graphic producers and their customers on how they can maximize the impact and effectiveness of signage.”

ESF is a pan-European federation of 20 national trade associations for the sign industry, as well as additional individual members. They promote the signmaking industry by acting as a forum for information exchange, lobbying with relevant bodies, and standardizing regulations across Europe.
