3M Commercial Graphics has introduced 3M Scotchcal Perforated Window Film IJ67, a removable film designed for short-term promotional first-surface window applications. The 5.9 mil vinyl film has a pressure-sensitive adhesive and a 40% die-perforated pattern that allows a full image to be seen on the outside of a window, while allowing viewing through retail and non-regulated vehicle windows from the inside, according to 3M.

Love Your Melon, a non-profit, cancer-fighting charity, will be spreading its message and donating hats to children undergoing cancer treatment via a 16-stop bus tour across the Eastern United States.
To help the charity gain visual awareness on the tour, print shop Vomela (www.vomela.com) of St. Paul, Minnesota, designed and manufactured a bus wrap with Love Your Melon’s logo and social media outlets. The wrap was then installed by United Application Standards Group (UASG, www.uasg.org).
Fujifilm North America has introduced XMF Remote 9.5, the latest version of its online print job management system.
Part of Fujifilm’s XMF Workflow and Production Management Suite, XMF Remote allows print companies and print buyers to directly submit and approve jobs for printing. Once approved in XMF Remote, jobs are sent to XMF Workflow for automatic print production.
MultiCam has announced that its new 4th-generation CNC knife option is now available on a wide range of the company’s cutting platforms.
Its 2014 CNC knife boasts a variety of features, including:
• Fully programmable, 360-degree servo rotational capabilities;
• It’s mounted on a precision THK bearing assembly;
• A compact design that’s available in either a single- or dual-knife configuration;
• Optional cutting heads including oscillating, drag, kiss-cut, pizza wheel, creasing and bevel.
Fisher Textiles is now offering GF 4607 Power Stretch fabric for dye-sublimation printing at 104-in. wide.
Also available is the GF 4607 Power Stretch at 122-in.wide with a brighter white point, which is engineered to improve print performance and give better definition of colors, according to Fisher. The fabric is designed for geometric displays, pop-up booths, silicone edge graphics, and photographic back drops, and is also flame retardant.
Mimaki USA has announced a new educational training program: SMART (School of Mimaki Application and Resource Training), which it will implement in Q1 2014.
In the program, Mimaki representatives will instruct and educate dealers and their end-user customers on the utilization, operation, and servicing of various Mimaki products. The company will utilize its six regional technology centers in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Los Angeles, and New Jersey to host the instructional and training programs.
International Paper has announced that its xpedx business will merge with Unisource Worldwide under the terms of an agreement that will then result in the creation of a new publicly traded company. The merger is expected to be completed in mid-2014.
Mary Laschinger, president of xpedx and senior vice president at International Paper, will become CEO of the new company and chairman of its board of directors. Allan Dragone, currently president and CEO of Unisource Worldwide, will serve as a director of the new company and will advise on integration activities.
Crest Dutch Machinery has introduced the RSC 3200 Ci Roll Sheet Cutter, a 126-in.-wide X-Y cutter. Developed for cutting textiles (slitting and cross cutting), the cutter can also handle other media including paper, foil, PVC, and polyester. It can be operated in manual, semi-automatic, or automatic mode. A skew function for alignment adjustment is standard; an optional hot-cutting system is available. The cutter is also available in 60- and 93.5-in. models.
